In June 2020, the Minister for Equalities, Kemi Badenoch, was appointed to lead a year-long project to investigate and mitigate the disparate impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on ethnic minority communities, which would be taken forward by the Race Disparity Unit (RDU). Progress and developments are reported in quarterly reports to the Prime Minister which detail the government’s work to reduce the disparities faced by people from ethnic minorities.

The Minister for Equalities requested primary research to be reported alongside the fourth and final quarterly report in Autumn 2021. We’re delighted to have been asked to undertake the research to support this report by investigating into ethnic minority communities perceptions, opinions and attitudes towards different aspects of the pandemic and the subsequent response. This will include the largest ever survey of people from ethnic minorities specifically on COVID-19.
