Basis Social makes first hire

Three months on from our inception we are absolutely thrilled to today announce that Rosemary Pierce-Messick joins Basis Social as our inaugural hire.

Rosemary is a behavioural scientist and social entrepreneur. She joins us from UCL where she has undertaken a MSc. in Cognitive and Decision Sciences. There she was also Head of Development at UCL Behavioural Interventions, managing projects related to behaviour change for sustainability and behavioural science career development for UCL students. She also brings valuable experience in developing interventions for positive social change, as Rosemary explains here:

“I have spent the past 4 years as co-founder of Three Wheels United (TWU), a social enterprise helping auto-rickshaw drivers own and operate an electric vehicle. I was the director of Three Wheels United Foundation focused on market building and research to enable TWU to scale its model and improve the lives of the auto-rickshaw drivers in India.”

As we grow Basis Social to work across the interface of insight and social action we’re delighted to bring Rosemary on board as a Research Manager. Welcome Rosemary!
